Vacancy Details
Description
I am a lady in my 50s living in central Neath with my pet dog and cat. I’ve worked for an insurance company for many years before I had to finish through ill health. I am a very sociable and lovely lady, and I have a good sense of humour. But I can get upset and frustrated with my situation. I have Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) which mimics stroke, MS, Epilepsy and Parkinson’s. I have frequent non-epileptic seizures, and also experience bladder and bowel issues. My condition is incurable and lifelong. The FND also causes fatigue, which can affect my vision, hearing, speech, memory and concentration. If I overdo things I can become tired, and this can cause me to have a seizure.
I also have Fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, which along with the FND, causes me to be in constant pain. I have depression and anxiety, and can get emotional often, and experience very low moods. Each day is different and so I cannot determine exactly how I will be from one day to the next. My condition will be discussed in the interview, and what steps you would be required to take, should I have a seizure when I’m with you, and how to recognise the signs of me becoming tired and verging on having a seizure.
