The Freedom of Information Act 2000 together with the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 give the general public rights to see or receive recorded information held by public authorities. There are also rights available to individuals under the Data Protection Act 1998 to have access to personal data relating to them held by public authorities and other persons and/or organisations
