What is BookStart?
Bookstart is a national programme that works through locally based coordinators to give a free pack of books to babies with guidance materials for parents and carers.
BookStart and Neath Port Talbot libraries
Bookstart song and rhyme sessions have resumed at Neath Port Talbot Libraries. Contact your local library to book a spot or confirm a session. Scheduled times available for those who have already booked are:
- Neath Library - Monday 10.30am
- Port Talbot Library - Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10.30am
- Pontardawe Library - Tuesday 10.30am
- Glynneath Library - Tuesday 11:30am
- Skewen Library - Fortnightly. Friday 11am. Contact the library for details.
- Cwmafan Library - Wednesday 10.30am
- Sandfields Library - Friday 10.30am
Sessions take place during term time only.
BookStart Book Crawl
BookStart Book Crawl encourages young children to join the library.
Children can:
- receive a collection card
- gain stickers on each visit to the library
- collect 4 stickers for a certificate (10 to collect)
- get a free book with the first certificate (while stocks last)
