Freedom of Information

Non-domestic rates (business taxes) applications

Neath Port Talbot Council receives a number of similar requests for information relating to Business Taxes (non-domestic property). To answer these requests we publish information about:
  • Accounts in Credit
  • Full list of non-domestic properties in Neath Port Talbot with a Rateable Value
  • Compulsory and Optional Discount
  • Occupied properties (including Relief / Exemption details)
  • New liabilities from 1 April in the current financial year.

We publish this information daily; We will not provide individual responses to requests during the year for similar information but will redirect seekers to our published list of reports included on this webpage.

Constraints on data

  • Taxpayers' names and addresses are not routinely published for individuals (e.g. sole traders, partnerships, etc.) because these such data will be in their personal data and the authority may breach the Data Protection Act if it were to publish this data as a matter of course.
  • The taxpayer is the person liable to pay the tax. In many cases this is a leaseholder and not the freehold property owner. It is not possible to identify the freehold property owners from our records.
  • Account addresses are not included as they are personal to the account, and are used to ensure that the account holder is the taxpayer.
