Hardship relief

We have discretionary powers to award hardship relief to business ratepayers.

Any award of hardship relief must be in the interests of Council Tax payers. This is because they will meet 25% of the cost.

Hardship relief:

• cannot be awarded based on the general economic or market conditions
• is only intended as a short-term measure
