Things to do
Cwmdu Glen is a local nature reserve. It features a 1km gorge with cascades and waterfalls along the Upper Clydach river. Visitors can enjoy:
- cascades and a picturesque waterfall
- Glanrhyd Plantation
- Swansea Valley cycle path
- walking trails
Glanrhyd Plantation
In 1878, local industrialist Arthur Gilbertson built Glanrhyd House. It later served as a hospital during the First World War and stood above the Gorge.
On the former grounds you'll find:
- a restored nature pond
- tree trail
- seating areas with viewpoints
- a giant redwood tree
Access
The main entrance is at the crossroad in Pontardawe, opposite the Dillwyn Arms. Additional access points are on James Street and Waun Gron.
