Cwm-Du-Glen waterfall

Visit the magnificent Cwm Du Glen waterfall in Pontardawe.

Things to do

Cwmdu Glen is a local nature reserve. It features a 1km gorge with cascades and waterfalls along the Upper Clydach river. Visitors can enjoy:

  • cascades and a picturesque waterfall
  • Glanrhyd Plantation
  • Swansea Valley cycle path
  • walking trails

Glanrhyd Plantation

In 1878, local industrialist Arthur Gilbertson built Glanrhyd House. It later served as a hospital during the First World War and stood above the Gorge.

On the former grounds you'll find:

  • a restored nature pond
  • tree trail
  • seating areas with viewpoints
  • a giant redwood tree

Access

The main entrance is at the crossroad in Pontardawe, opposite the Dillwyn Arms. Additional access points are on James Street and Waun Gron.
