Leading female choir rocks up for the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s Remembrance Concert

27 September 2024

A TOP FEMALE choir whose commitment to music and friendship has made them a cherished part of the local cultural scene will be taking part in the Mayor of Neath Port Talbot’s Remembrance Concert this year.

The choir

This is the first time an all-female choir has taken part in the popular annual event which will once again be hosted by singer songwriter and radio and TV personality Mal Pope.

A sell-out at their shows, the Valley Rock Voices choir has supported the likes of Max Boyce and tenor Wynne Evans who is currently appearing in Strictly Come Dancing.

Choir founder and musical director Cerys Llewellyn-Bevan from Cadoxton, Neath, was the winner of the Performing Arts Award at this year’s Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Citizen Awards in April.

The 200-plus women who make up the choir are aged 21 to 80 and are from a wide range of backgrounds and promise a great, foot tapping evening. The Valley Rock Voices Choir offers an explosive groundbreaking “wall of sound” belting out the most popular tunes from the past few decades.

Everything from The Bee Gees and Primal Scream to Stormzy to Coldplay – nothing is off limits!
