Celebrate Our Heritage and be a Part of Our History Competition!

If you are aged 16-25, interested in culture and heritage and live, study or work in Neath Port Talbot you are invited to enter Neath Port Talbot Council’s ‘Be a Part of Our History’ competition.
Entrants can create a collage, drawing, painting, print, pictorial map (or any other appropriate art form) to celebrate our heritage in Neath Port Talbot and to express and what it means to them.
The prize for the winner is a 12-month Family Membership to Cadw, the Welsh Government’s historic environment service. Members are allowed free admission to all Cadw properties in Wales and receive membership benefits for the length of their membership.
Also, the winning design will be exhibited at Studio 40, Queen Street (Neath) as part of the Neath Arts & Literature Festival 2023.The design will appear on the Neath Port Talbot Council website and on the NPT Library digital noticeboard.

The above website provides a local heritage timeline which entrants may wish to use for inspiration, giving details of everything from the earliest local burial cairns to birth dates of well known NPT people like Richard Burton and Max Boyce and the founding of historic sites like Neath Abbey and Margam Abbey.
The competition closes on 4th October 2023 and entries need to be submitted in one of the Council’s libraries.
The competition is funded by the Heritage NPT Project supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to National Lottery players.
