Neath Port Talbot Council has appointed a temporary adviser to oversee its housing strategy.

Ann Cornelius will be responsible for developing relationships with registered social landlords and will be the strategic lead for the council’s housing functions, its Rapid Rehousing Service, and the Regional Housing Agenda. Ann will also be responsible for developing alternative models for homelessness.

With more than thirty years working in the housing sector, Ann has held chief executive and director level roles at various housing associations. She is also a board member of Gloucester City Homes and is the chair of Splitz Support Service, a domestic abuse charity.

Commenting on her appointment, Ann said: “I am very pleased to be offered this exciting opportunity to support Neath Port Talbot in delivering excellent, affordable homes and services in the county borough.”

Councillor Peter Richards, Neath Port Talbot Council’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services and Health, said: “I am delighted to be able to welcome Ann to Neath Port Talbot Council. Ann has extensive experience working in the housing sector and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and skills that will be key to delivering on our housing objectives.

“I’m sure she’ll be a real asset to Neath Port Talbot”.

Ann will take up the role of Strategic Housing Officer this month.
