The project
The Council commissioned a conservation management plan for the Park. This plan outlines the urgent need for restoration and conservation work. The war memorial has been beautifully restored but there is a lot more to do:
Bandstand
The bandstand has been fenced off for the safety of park visitors until it can be restored.
Sports and games
Sports and games areas have fallen out of use or need investment.
Buildings
The Park's buildings need to be repaired and used.
Landscape
The Park's landscape is in danger of being lost or diluted.
More money is urgently needed to expand and continue the conservation work. Funding requires this to be linked with a masterplan which benefits the local community and its:
- economy
- health
- wellbeing
Get involved
We're asking you to get involved and we'd like your views. We need to hear answers to questions like:
- What do you love about the park?
- What would you like to change?
- How do you think these changes might benefit the community?
