Transfer station school visits
Available to book from early 2025
We can accommodate school class visits to our Transfer Station. for classes who would like to see what happens to their waste and recycling after it gets picked up by our crews.
During the visit, you’ll:
- tour the Transfer Station
- see (and smell!) how materials are unloaded from the lorries
- take part in fun interactive sessions in our classroom-style area
From a viewing platform, children will get a chance to:
- see where the refuse and recycling lorries unload
- see our recycling sorting and baling machinery
- understand how identifying materials is essential to the recycling process
The class will be split into groups and will rotate activities. One group will go to the viewing platform. The other group will go to our classroom-style area. At least one member of our team and a teacher will supervise each group.
We can accommodate one class of a maximum of 35 children per visit. The visit will last approximately 2 hours.
Children must be at least 7 years old.
There is disabled access to the classroom-style area. Disabled access is unavailable at the viewing platforms.
