Trebanos
The urban areas of this ward are very green with many large street trees and gardens. Part of the Swansea Canal SINC is in this ward. There are areas of ancient semi-natural woodland and native woodland planted on colliery spoil. Most of the ward is farmland.
The green corridors in the urban areas are good for House sparrow which have dramatically declined in the UK in recent decades. The Swansea Canal SINC is designated as a typical canal construction with emergent vegetation such as Purple loosestrife and Marsh marigold. The ancient woodlands are home to Tawny owl, Great spotted woodpecker and Wood warbler. The farmland is good for Brown hare, Badger and Hedgehog.
Actions

- Encourage landowners to manage land sensitively to nature. Some may wish to join the local Meadows Group, contact the team to find out more.
- Look for locations for NPT Bee Friendly management around the ward i.e. sites where flowers would grow if mowing was paused for the summer
