The Welsh Government recommend that local authorities apply a charge for the collection of garden waste. As the garden waste service is not a mandatory service, local authorities have the flexibility to charge to cover the cost of the service.
At Neath Port Talbot Council, additional or replacement sacks are available to purchase at a subsidised cost of £1.75 per bag. This charge applies to all residents who require additional bags, even if they have been stolen or are missing.
