Tyres are not accepted at this site. Please contact your local tyre retailers to check if they take tyres for re-use/recycling
*These items are classed as building type waste.
Each household can dispose of up to 3 sacks (1 black bag is equivalent to one sack) per week of building type waste for free at the recycling centre. This does not include asbestos. There will be a charge for any sacks containing asbestos. (Please Note: a week is 7 consecutive days from your initial appointment).
You will have to pay a fee for larger loads.

The weight of waste will be charged as follows (the upper limit of each weight band will be used to calculate the payment)
This does NOT include asbestos which will be charged per sheet / item.
- 0 to 100 kg
- 100 to 250 kg
- 250 to 500 kg
- 500 to 1,000 kg
Any amount greater than 1,000 kg will be charged at 500 kg increments.
Weighbridge and payment
The weighbridge will be available between:
- 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday-Friday
- 8.30am to 12.30pm Saturday and Sunday
You can make a payment during these hours. We accept debit/credit cards and cash.

You must take larger loads and any sacks containing asbestos to the Recycling Centre located in Briton Ferry Industrial Estate. You will have to pay a fee.

Before Visiting
Before you visit this site, please:
- Sort all black bag waste. Any bags or boxes of mixed waste will not be accepted.
- Separate all glass and metals from wood items. Wood, glass, and metals must be recycled separately.
- Remove all batteries from electrical appliances before recycling.
Materials
Asbestos and plasterboard are not accepted.
Please check the A-Z recycling guide for a full list of what can and cannot be recycled at the HWRC before your visit.
NPT residents are able to use Lower Cwmtwrch recycling centre. Please check their revised procedures before visiting. People will now be asked to present proof of address when using the centre. Proof of address could include a driver's licence, council tax bill, bank statement, or utility bill.
Garden waste bags can be purchased online.
You do not need to book a slot to visit the reuse shop to donate items or make purchases.

Changes to your booking
You can make changes to your booking online. This includes:
- cancelling your booking,
- changing the booking slot or
- changing the vehicle registration number
Vans, pick-ups and trailers
Householders with vans, pick-ups and double axle trailers can access recycling centres at Briton Ferry and Cymmer. You must have booked a permit and allocated time slot. This can be done below.
- Single axle trailers can also access the recycling centres but permits are not required.
- Tipper/ Flatbed' vans and large 7.5t vans are not allowed on site
- Residents are allowed a maximum of 12 permits per year (from 1st April to 31st March the following year) for all vans, pick-up vehicles and double axle trailers.
