Terms & Conditions

  • Nominees should either live, work, volunteer or be in education or training within Neath Port Talbot County Borough.
  • Nominations can be made for individuals, groups or organisations.
  • You are welcome to nominate yourself, family members, friends, work colleagues or any individual or group you feel deserves recognition.
  • Multiple nominations for the same person, group or organisation can be made in different categories.
  • The judging panel may consider your nomination in a different category if the event team or judges consider it’s appropriate.
  • The judging panel collectively decide the most deserving winners, regardless of the number of nominations received for any given category.
  • There is no age limit for nominees.
  • Nominations may be scrutinised for accuracy.
  • Nominations can be submitted in the following ways:
    Online: via nptawards.wales or via the Neath Port Talbot Council website
    In writing to: Mayor’s Citizen Awards, The Mayor’s Secretary, NPT Council, Civic Centre, Port Talbot, SA13 1PJ
  • Unless otherwise advised, we will assume that nominees or winners who accept an invitation to attend the awards evening agree to their names and images being shared either online or in print.
  • All nominations must be received by midday on Monday 8th April 2024.
  • Category winners will be contacted by 16th April 2024 .
  • Please note: Following initial confirmation that online nominations have been received, we may not be able to contact all who made nominations on behalf of individuals or groups who weren’t judged as winners. If this is the case, please don’t let this stop you putting them forward for any of our award events in future.
  • Winners in each category will be offered 4 tickets to attend the awards evening. Tickets include seats at a table plus dinner for each guest.
  • Winners will be chosen by a judging panel, from a shortlist produced by the event team. The team consider every nomination received as well as conducting a full research process, which includes inviting nominations from charities, emergency services, voluntary and other organisations and searching news stories in print and online archives.
  • Judging takes place week commencing 8th April 2024. The judging panel will made up of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Neath Port Talbot Council and independent representatives from the private and public sectors.
  • The judges’ decision is final. Their deliberations will remain confidential and no correspondence will be entered into regarding decisions made.
  • If any judge has a direct association with a nominee they will not take part in the decision making process for the relevant category.
  • Data: We need contact information for both nominator and nominees in order to get in touch regarding the Awards and to issue invitations and provide further information. This data will not be used for any other reason; shared with third parties or retained longer than needed beyond the event date.
