Support and advice for families in NPT

Family life can be challenging at times, and everyone needs a little help along the way.

During difficult times many families call on:

  • friends
  • relatives
  • neighbours

These can all be an invaluable source of help but if you need more specialised support please see below.

NPT Family help

We offer a range of free information, help, and advice for families with children 0-25 years old.

Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for updates on local events and services.

Early help services

We have many services dedicated to providing help to parents, carers and young people.

Support and advice is available if you need help with any of the following:

 

Coping with loss

Emotional support for families experiencing:

  • bereavement
  • separation
  • other challenging situations

Domestic abuse

Support for families affected by domestic abuse. This includes emotional support and guidance.

Emotional health and wellbeing

Support groups and therapy services for children, young people and families. Including children with low attendance at school.

Home support

Practical support for families to make long-term changes to improve home life.

Maintaining healthy relationships

Support to:

  • promote a healthy family relationship
  • address any challenges you may be facing

Parenting

Enhance your parenting skills and support child development, whether you're a:

  • parent
  • carer
  • caregiver

Support for families affected by disability

We can help you find opportunities to play and socialise for children and young people with:

  • disabilities
  • Additional learning needs (ALN)

You can also get emotional support and guidance for your family.

Welfare rights

Support to ensure you're claiming all the benefits you're entitled to.

If you think the support we offer would benefit you or your family, you can refer yourself by:

  • calling us on 01639 686802
  • emailing us at and requesting a self-referral form

Professionals such as GPs or teachers can also make a referral on your behalf.
