Retail, leisure and hospitality rate relief 2023-24

The Welsh Government has announced details of a new temporary rate relief scheme from which retail, leisure and hospitality properties will benefit from April 2023. The plan for 2023/24 offers a 75% discount on non-domestic rate bills for eligible occupied properties, but £110,000 is the maximum amount all businesses can apply for across all properties used by the same business in Wales.

For more details, see the Welsh Government Guidance.

All eligible businesses must complete an online statement form, please contact the Business Rates Team for a form.

In exceptional circumstances, we may grant a reduction to the rates bill if you can prove that you are suffering hardship and if it is interests of council taxpayers for the reduction to be granted.
