Margam Crematorium

Whilst it is fully appreciated the loss of a loved one is very difficult and stressful the Crematorium would advise the public that it is still required to undertake a risk assessment with regard to attendance at funerals.

A full risk assessment has again been carried out in conjunction with the Council’s Health and Safety Officers and Fire Officers and it has been agreed that the maximum allowed in the Service Hall / Chapel is 170.  This made up as follows: Seated – 135. Standing – 35.  In addition to this 25 persons will be allowed in the waiting room where there is a screen and speaker allowing the service to be observed.

The outside speakers will be switched on for the convenience of those unable to enter the chapel.

The Chapel of Remembrance is open for viewing of the Books of Remembrance although it is not currently possible to view days other than the current page.  This chapel will be closed 30 minutes before the gates are closed.

Floral tributes may be left in both the Chapel of Remembrance and the main chapel where, also, Window Vases and the Altar Vase may be reserved.

Please note the Crematorium office currently remains closed to the general public although appointments can be made as necessary.
